Courchevel, the star of the 3 Valleys
In 1946, Savoie decided to make a splash in winter sports and build a model resort. Courchevel will be an example for many other resorts in the Alps. Its development is unique and favours skiing: convergence of the slopes, setting up of chalets and hotels on the edge of the domain, chain of ski lifts. Courchevel is also characterized by a deep architectural renovation and rediscovers the noble materials: wood, stone and lauze. On the tables, the chefs find with pleasure the taste of traditional dishes and the residents like to revive the festivals of the valley. Today, the resort is renowned for its skiing, its luxurious hotels and its gourmet restaurants. Its tables are among the best in Europe.
